Plant numbers and locations have been monitored since 1950s. Funding from NE in the last two years has enabled the purchase and installation of data logging equipment at the Workmans Wood site and also at Windsor Hill. The aim being to monitor light, soil temperature, moisture etc in relation to plant numbers and locations. The aim is that this will be a long term study that will reveal any relationships between these factors and the appearance/flowering of plants etc. This will inform conservation management as we go forward. Over the last 15 years the group has been working with Kew to provide seeds from the British sites and develop a way of germinating and growing plants for potential reintroduction. To date this has been unsuccessful.
